Tomorrow, 2/4 at 8am will be the hearing on the Free the Chickens bill (SB1026) in the Senate Agriculture Committee. With record-high egg prices and mass culling of chickens, this bill allows the following:
Prevents HOAs from banning chickens outright.
Allows for up to four (4) chickens per 0.2 acres, with additional chickens permitted on larger lots.
Allows HOAs to set reasonable regulations (e.g., coop placement, waste management) and prohibit roosters to address noise concerns.
Does not impact city regulations or apply to agricultural zones.
Public testimony will be taken in person or remotely. You can sign up to testify by going here. You can also email the committee here.
Sen. Tammy Nichols

Hey Senator Nichols,
Is it too late for one more new bill?
Can we do something about the Star Card thing? I don't want one nor do I want to be forced into getting a passport to fly to see my family in California.
