The U.S. Constitution specifically designated the conduct and process for elections is the sole purview of the individual states. Our Secretary of State was entirely correct in refusing to share our election data with the Federal government. This supposed “save act” is a thinly veiled attempt for the federal government to begin controlling the voting process.

Let me explain why this is an absolutely critical issue. In a previous career I ran an organization with advocacy operations on 48 states. Critical to making that happen was an appropriate interface with state election operations. To accomplish that meant we needed 48 different approaches.

This individual state operation made the kind of wholesale corruption claimed by Trump nearly impossible. Now, this intrusion into that state based process is the camel’s nose under the tent. As they begin to standardize voting operations like communist countries do, they make systemic fraud easier. There is NOTHING in this federal intrusion into our electoral process that the State of Idaho cannot do by itself. Ponder that for a moment. Do you really want Washington, D.C. telling us how to run our elections?

Don’t be fooled by its name. Supporting this “save” legislation is not a conservative position. It’s being complicit with a totally unnecessary federal power grab.
