I was recently in Coeur d’Alene for the summer Idaho Republican/GOP meeting and served on the Credentials Committee.
This meeting had several committees that met to make decisions as Republicans regarding the state party platform, the rules governing the party, resolutions and credentials. This is also the meeting where elections would take place for the state republican leadership who also serve 2 year terms. There were also workshops and a gala dinner where this year’s keynote speaker was Kari Lake!
Delegates and alternates are elected all over the state from the counties and legislative districts to attend this meeting and help make decisions that represent and give direction for the Idaho Republican Party.
I prepared a resolution for presenting to the Resolutions Committee regarding the WEF and UN, it passed overwhelmingly, and now hopefully the Idaho Legislature will understand the bill intent that I have, and will pass it this next session. You can read the resoultion below:
All the resolutions, rules, etc…can be read by going here to the State GOP website.
The elections for the state party leadership occurred and the results were as follows.
Congradulations to: Chair Dorothy Moon, 1st Vice Chair Mark Fuller, 2nd Vice Chair Viki Purdy, Secretary Maria Nate, Treasurer Steve Bender, National Committeeman Bryan Smith, National Committeewoman Vicki Keen
All the speeches can be watched here.
A great write up and words of wisdom by Gem State Chronicle can be read here .
Water!
You most likely have been hearing a lot of talk regarding water in Idaho and the curtailment order in Eastern Idaho.
There have been several videos and different theories on why this is all taking place. Could there be truth to some of these? Nothing suprises me anymore, but Sen. Zuiderfeldt wrote an article about it here with her thoughts.
As of the writing of this substack, the curtailment order has been lifted, the 2016 agreement is what is now in play, while a new agreement is being worked on by the parties. Hopefully it’s a good agreement and not something that will be a negative. Idaho’s “first in line, first in right” is very important to uphold and maintain. There are some who would like to see this go away, but that would be a very bad idea.
Ranked Choice Voting
As we approach November I will gurantee that more info and bigger pushes will be coming out on Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), as it will be on the November ballot. This is a trend that is taking place in particuallry red states to flip them blue. We do not want this in Idaho. The legislature passed a ban on it and the ban is what is being challenged.
A great write up came out on this voting scheme not long ago that can be read here.
Please become educated on the issue and WHY it is such a problem, and WHY we don’t want it in Idaho.
On A Personal Note:
I recently returned from out of the country where our family had the beautiful experience to celebrate the marriage of our oldest son. They were married in Mexico and it was a beautiful celebration!
